About Me

Good Day Lovelies!

My name is Shelvina E. I live with my wonderful husband, Christian, in Indiana where I have called home since mid-2012. We live in a cozy, one bedroom apartment with our garden and the local duckies to keep us company. While Christian is away, doing whatever it is Civil CAD Techs do, I am at home blogging my way to more makeup, better recipes, alternative medicines and filling up our meager storage space with seasonal home decor (We still have wedding decorations hanging around our apartment!).

I got my start in high school, when most girls were just doing simple makeup I was going nuts with it and irritating my poor mother. After high school I started going to school full-time to be a Medical Assistant as well as working a full-time job and maintaining a pretty busy social life. Whatever happened, though, I never stopped working on my makeup art. I got to the point where I was doing some light freelance work: bridal makeup, editorial work, making video tutorials and sharing them to YouTube, and more.

I never really got much outside of that, however, until I met Christian. While our relationship grew, he showed me how to challenge some of my old beliefs and ideas in ways I never would have expected. I started developing a larger interest in holistic healthcare methods, which was odd for someone who completed a Medical Assistant program and grew up in an Indian/Fijian family. Seriously, you have no idea. Anyhow, through that new interest I have started to learn about the awesomeness of Essential Oils and how to incorporate them into my daily healthcare. I was also driven to seek alternative methods of healthcare since I suffer from Polycystic Ovary Syndrome, Bipolar Disorder and general anxiety. I've learned ways to help control my PCOS by working on recipes and natural remedies. I've learned ways to better deal with my Bipolar Disorder by focusing on all of these tasks and being creative, making my own home decor and exercising my mind and spirit, as well as my body.

I've also been fighting to control my past and some personal demons that always seem to try and bring me down. It's been a struggle many years in the making and I am determined to retake control  of my life and let my past release it's hold on my future with my husband. The goal of this blog is to be a place where I can share with you all the nifty things that I've learned that have helped me in some way or another and I am writing with the hopes that I can inspire you to let your creativity shine! Nothing can hold you back if you want it badly enough.

I want to thank you very much for visiting my blog I wish you well in whatever path life takes you.
