Maple Lime Guacamole

Holy Moly Maple Guacamole!

Hey loves!

So I've been wanting to do a post on how do guac' for so long but I swear these avocados are either ridiculously priced or they go bad as soon as I turn my head the opposite direction and I never get to make it for a blog post! So I finally got my act together with the avocados and made this delicious dip. I wanted to make it a bit different than usual so I just decided to accidentally pour some maple syrup in this time. Oh my goodness! My husband and I sat down to try it out during his lunch hour and we ended up almost cleaning the mortar out! And so that you get to do the same, I'll keep this post sweet and simple, just like the recipe. So lets get started:

List of Ingredients:

Avocado - 3 medium ripe fruits
Red Onion - 1/4 cup, finely diced
Cilantro - 1/4 cup, finely chopped
Jalapeno - 2 Tbsp, finely chopped
Extra Virgin Olive Oil - 1 Tbsp
Maple Syrup - 2 Tbsp
Lime - 1, zested and juiced
Salt to taste

The biggest thing is to keep everything diced super fine so it's not extremely chunky but if that's your thing go for it.

I just popped everything in the bowl and used to a fork to mash it till it all became incorporated properly and the avocado was broken down to form a paste. That's it! All done! On a side note, despite the usage of the mortar, I didn't use my mortar and pestle to crush the ingredients. That being said, if you would like to, go right ahead! It might actually mash everything up a little better but I just thought the mortar worked out as a very cool serving bowl.

As for the apparatus for conveying the guac' from the bowl to your mouth, you can obviously use tortilla chips, the ones in the photos are sea salt and lime, or you can slice carrots, bell peppers or even cut up and make some fries for dipping! Whatever sounds good, do it! As always, thank you very much and have a great day!
