PCOS Friendly Dairy free Golden Milk



So here is very simple and quick Golden Milk recipe.This delicious warm drink is so named for the Turmeric that gives it that rich, golden color. Turmeric has been used for a long time in Indian medicine and is well known in holistic medicine as a natural anti-inflammatory and antiseptic among other things such as:

Anti-oxidant
Analgesic
Immune Booster
Anti-carcinogenic
Helps maintain healthy cholesterol levels
Detoxifies the liver
Regulates metabolism and helps with weight management.
Helps lower high blood pressure
Helps with memory and brain function
Helps correct various skin conditions
Helps correct Neurological disorders
Helps lower Triglycerides.

This recipe is one that I learned from my grandmother and my mother and now I share it with my fiance who loves it.

Ingredient list:
Almond Milk - 2 cups (You can use any dairy-free milk for the recipe)
Organic Ground Turmeric - 1/2 teaspoon
Organic Ground Cardamom - 1/3 teaspoon (optional)
Organic Raw Honey - 1/2 teaspoon to taste

In a small pot, pour in the milk and place it on the stove. Bring the milk NEARLY to a boil, I usually get it to the point where it starts getting bubbles on the surface. At this point I add the Turmeric, Cardamom and the Honey. I use a whisk to incorporate all of the ingredients together and prevent it from getting lumpy. Allow the mixture to come to a boil then turn the heat off and let the mixture steep for roughly a minute.

When serving, I pour through a strainer to keep all of those big granules out of my mug. You can serve this drink warm or cool but it is best to drink it when it is nice and hot, perfect for a pre-bedtime beverage.
